Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some of the questions I'm most often asked. If you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Getting Started

01 Are you accepting new clients?

Yes, I am currently accepting new clients. You can schedule an appointment through Zocdoc or reach out directly through my contact page for a free initial phone consultation.

02 Do you see clients in person?

I offer both in-person sessions at my office at 11726 San Vicente Blvd, Suite 220, Los Angeles, CA 90049 (through Stori) and telehealth sessions for clients throughout California. Many clients find that a combination of in-person and virtual sessions works well for their schedule and preferences.

03 Do you offer sessions in Farsi?

Yes, I am fluent in both English and Farsi (Persian) and offer therapy sessions in either language. Being able to express yourself in your first language can be profoundly meaningful in therapeutic work, and I welcome clients who prefer to work in Farsi.

Insurance & Fees

04 Do you accept insurance?

Yes. Through Stori, I am in-network with Aetna, Cigna, and United for individual and family therapy. Your out-of-pocket cost depends on your plan. I'd recommend calling your insurance provider to ask about your copay and deductible. Please note that couples therapy is not covered in-network. For out-of-network plans, I can provide a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance carrier for potential reimbursement.

05 What is your fee?

Sessions start at $155, with rates up to $225 depending on session length. The rate is the same whether you're coming individually, as a couple, or as a family. I'm happy to discuss specifics during our free initial phone consultation, and I do reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots.

Sessions

06 How long are sessions?

A standard session is about 50 minutes. Longer sessions are available when the work calls for it, and extended appointments are billed at a higher rate. We'll discuss what makes the most sense for you during our initial consultation.

07 What is your cancellation policy?

I require at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations, reschedules within the 48-hour window, and missed sessions are subject to the full session fee. You can notify me via email or through the client portal.

Resources

08 Do you have any recommended books on self-growth, trauma & healing, or parenting?

Absolutely. Here are a few I frequently recommend:

  • The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk
  • Attached by Amir Levine and Rachel Heller
  • Self-Compassion by Kristin Neff
  • The Whole-Brain Child by Daniel Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson
  • It Didn't Start with You by Mark Wolynn

I'm always happy to suggest additional resources tailored to your specific interests and needs.
